The four partners, AppHarvest, Revol Greens, Elevate Farms and Fifth Season, represent an expanding global market growing a range of crops in indoor environments, from microgreens to tomatoes to berries. One of the four partners is our customer AppHarvest, which uses Grodan growing media to grow their tomatoes. By working together the four producers can unlock basic knowledge about performance metrics that can improve efficiency and productivity for CEA producers globally. Growers can access these metrics by using Resource Innovation Institute’s PowerScore. This is a resource benchmarking platform that enables CEA producers to confidentially validate their practices and gain powerful insights into their operational performance, while using standardized key performance indicators.
Ultimately, the different partners in the pilot aim to make their shared vision reality: bringing consumers fresher and safer food that is grown with less land, water and energy.
